1st Day of First Grade....

WOW!!! wow!!! WOW!!! The Summer is OVER! And I have a child old enough to be in First Grade. I can't believe it! Her first day was August 20th. She got an amazing teacher - that I'm so excited about. Her name is Ms. Monson - she just graduated from BYU Idaho and this is her first year - which makes me excited :) because she is so pumped to be teaching and has soooo much energy and excitement.

Her is my First grader all ready to go. She had picked out her outfit over a month before school. It is hard to wait to wear those new school clothes when you are super excited about them :) She really is getting her own style and wants certain things.

This is the beloved backpack that she picked! She had to have an over the shoulder one and she is in love with hers!

Then of course - she is full day now - so she was excited to have a lunch box like her little brother. She picked a Jonas Brothers lunch box and even picked the food to go inside :)

Making sure she had everything...

Waiting at the bus stop...

Getting on the bus...
She said she was ok and I didn't have to follow her, but of course I did just in case! It took me forever to get to her class with all the parents doing the same thing. It was a crazy busy parking lot. When I got there - I found her crying ... she got nervous! I was so glad I was there to give her a hug! Then I headed to work.
At work that day I couldn't stop thinking about her being upset when I left. So I left work early to be there at school when she got out so that I knew she knew what bus to get on and everything. The day must have gone great because when I got there - she saw me - and said "I want to ride the bus." She thought I was going to make her ride with me :) So nothing has changed the bus is still her favorite part of the day.

Getting off the bus after school....
Kaleb was so glad to have her home!

We love you Briana!

Cascade Springs

Today when Bre woke up - she asked "can we go fishing?" Daddy said "sure"

So... we grabbed a few things and headed up American Fork canyon to our favorite spot! Silver Lake Flats! The water was super low!!! We are talking a 30ft drop from a week or so ago when we were there! And it was very cold! I didn't even think to take jackets - It's August! We fished for 3 or so hours and the highlight was a mommy duck and her ducklings that swam by! Bre loved feeding them! Good thing we had some rolls with us.

Then we just drove around looking for some camp ground sites! We just kept going and going up the canyon! Then we Chris decided to take us to Cascade Springs. I had never been there and I loved it! Kaleb loved running around and Bre ... well she said "thanks dad for taking us here - this is the best day of my life! I'm glad I said let's go fishing!"

Good Bye! Cascade Springs .... I'll miss you!

Then at that point it was about 3pm and the kids were super hungry! So we headed to Heber since it was closer then Lehi at this point. So we continued to drive up the canyon - this picture is when we started to come down and could see Heber Valley.

We took the kids to their favorite restaurant! Dairy Keen! This was grandma Colleen's favorite place to eat when she would come visit us when we lived in Heber.

Then of course! We had to drive by our old house! Yeah - this is a dumb picture! I wasn't brave enough to stop and take one - they would think we are stalkers :) I wish it showed the tree's we planted though - they were HUGE! The pine tree out front was so tall I couldn't believe it! I miss Heber!!!
